About HPC Gloves

HPC Gloves is an independent reference site for work gloves and hand protection that explains ANSI/ISEA cut levels, EN 388 ratings, glove materials, sizing, and job-based selection for tradespeople and safety buyers.
The working rule behind every page is the same one crews use: name the hazard, read the rating, then check the fit. Brand comes last, if it comes up at all.
What this site covers
- Type guides for cut, chemical, welding, and mechanic or impact gloves
- A standards reference for ANSI/ISEA cut levels and EN 388 label strings
- Sizing: how to measure a hand and map it to a size that stays on all shift
- Job pages that map tasks to glove traits, starting with construction
What it deliberately leaves out
There are no product rankings, no star ratings, and no "best glove of the year" list on this site, because we do not test gloves. There is no TDM-100 machine here and no wear trial. A verdict we cannot back would be marketing with an editorial byline on it, and the cost of getting it wrong lands on someone's hand.
So the pages stop where the evidence stops. They tell you which rating band a task calls for and what to ask a supplier. Choosing the model, and confirming the declaration for the size you issue, stays with you. The full reasoning is on how we source this information.
Who it is for
- Tradespeople picking their own pair and tired of guessing from a product photo
- Safety buyers and supervisors specifying gloves for a crew
- Anyone holding a glove label full of digits and letters that nobody explained
- Serious DIYers doing work that earns real hand protection
Who writes it
Pages are published under one collective byline, the HPC Gloves reference desk. It is a reference-desk byline for the desk that writes and re-checks this material, not an individual, and no credentials or field experience are claimed under it. Judge it on the sourcing and on whether corrections get acted on.
How it is funded
Running costs are paid by the site's owner. No display advertising, no sponsored placement, and no manufacturer, distributor, or certification body pays for coverage or reviews a draft. If a page ever carries an affiliate link, it will be labelled there and it will not change which rating band the page points you at.
What we are not
HPC Gloves is not a glove factory, a distributor, or a certification lab. Guides do not replace an SDS review, a site hazard assessment, or the manufacturer's instructions. When a page here disagrees with your safety officer or a manufacturer declaration, they win.
